1. Introduction

Chess Next Move Calculator AI (the “App”) is developed and operated by Mahajan Works (“we,” “our,” or “us”). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the App, how we use it, and the choices available to you. By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this Policy.

2. Information We Collect

A. Information You Provide

Feedback & Support: If you contact us via the in-app feedback feature, we collect the content of your message, any attachments such as screenshots, and your email address if you choose to provide it. This information is used solely to respond to your inquiry and improve the App.

B. Information Collected Automatically

• Anonymous Identifier: We use Firebase Anonymous Authentication to assign a unique, anonymous ID to your device. This allows us to provide a personalised experience and manage your subscription status without requiring you to create an account or share any personal credentials.
• Usage Analytics: We use PostHog and Firebase Analytics to understand how you interact with the App. Collected events include actions such as requesting a best-move calculation, starting a game against the AI, or viewing the premium paywall. This data is used solely to improve the App.
• Session Replay: We may use PostHog Session Replay to record in-app interactions, which may include screenshots of the App’s interface, to help diagnose technical issues and improve user experience. We do not use session replay to capture sensitive personal information.
• Crash & Performance Logs: We use Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash reports. These may include your device model, Android OS version, and the state of the chessboard at the time of an error. This data is used exclusively for debugging and stability improvements.

C. Camera & Image Data

FEN Detection: If you use the photo-to-board feature, the App accesses your device’s camera to capture an image of a physical chessboard. This image is transmitted to an external API service to detect the board position (FEN string). Images are not stored beyond the duration of the request and are not used for any other purpose.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and maintain the App’s features and functionality
• To diagnose bugs, crashes, and performance issues
• To understand how users interact with the App and prioritise product improvements
• To manage and verify your subscription status via RevenueCat
• To display rewarded video advertisements via IronSource

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for purposes beyond those described in this Policy.

5. Advertising

We use IronSource (Unity LevelPlay) to display rewarded video advertisements. This service may collect and use your Google Advertising ID (GAID) to show contextually relevant ads and to measure ad performance. You can opt out of interest-based advertising at any time by opening your Android device’s Settings → Google → Ads → Delete advertising ID.

6. Subscriptions & Payments

All in-app purchases and subscription billing are processed securely by the Google Play Store. We do not receive, collect, or store your credit card, debit card, or bank account information. We use RevenueCat solely to verify and manage your subscription entitlements within the App.

7. Your Rights & Choices

• Data Deletion: You may request deletion of your feedback and support data by emailing chessnmp@mahajanworks.com. We will respond within a reasonable time.
• Opt Out of Analytics: You may stop all data collection by uninstalling the App using the standard uninstall process on your device or via the Google Play Store.
• Advertising ID: You can reset or delete your Google Advertising ID via Android Settings → Google → Ads.

8. Data Retention

We retain anonymous usage and analytics data for up to 24 months, after which it may be stored in aggregated, non-identifiable form. Feedback and support data is retained for as long as necessary to resolve your inquiry and is deleted upon written request. Camera images used for FEN detection are not retained beyond the duration of the API request.

9. Children’s Privacy

The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided personal information, we will delete it from our servers immediately. 10. Security

We implement physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect the information we process. Access is limited to authorised personnel and contractors who require it to operate or improve the App. While we strive to use commercially reasonable means to protect your data, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the Effective Date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Policy.
